Welcome to my Clinical Psychology Practice serving adults in Washington DC and the surrounding areas.
If you are feeling stuck but want to move forward, or if you are in emotional pain, or if you want to overcome personal mental health challenges, I would be happy to speak with you about the problems that are getting in your way. I offer a confidential environment to talk comfortably and work collaboratively in a therapeutic process that helps clients gain a better quality of life.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice who has had the privilege of serving clients in Washington DC and the surrounding area for nearly 20 years. I received a Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) from The George Washington University and did my clinical training at Georgetown University’s Counseling and Psychiatric Service, George Washington University’s Center Clinic and The Women’s Center, a community mental health center in Vienna, Virginia. I have a B.A. degree from Tufts University and a Master’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University.
I have worked as a staff psychologist at the Georgetown University Law Center, caring for law students and lawyers pursuing advanced law degrees. Consequently, I have enjoyed seeing many lawyers in my practice. I also affiliate with the Medical Society of D.C. where I serve as a psychologist in the Physician Wellness Program, which supports the vital work of doctors in this area. I have been fortunate to see a number of doctors and other medical professionals in my practice.
I offer individual psychotherapy to adults of all ages and with diverse backgrounds. The process is confidential. I work with people 18 years old and up through the elder years. I do either short-term work that focuses on a particular problem or I do longer-term work with those who want to live a more examined life.
I work with couples seeking to improve their relationship or marriage, and I offer premarital counseling.
I provide family therapy to adult family members and group therapy to unrelated individuals who want to solve a relationship problem, including workplace relationships.
My clients tend to come to therapy when they are stuck in a problem, or in a difficult life transition, or are seeking goals for the future that thus far have been elusive. People often come to sort out problems in their relationships, in their family life, in their workplace or at times when life’s challenges can be daunting.
