I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice who has had the privilege of serving clients in Washington DC and the surrounding area for nearly 20 years as well as teaching graduate students. I received a Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) from The George Washington University and did my clinical training at Georgetown University’s Counseling and Psychiatric Service, George Washington University’s Center Clinic and The Women’s Center, a community mental health center in Vienna, Virginia. I have a B.A. degree from Tufts University and a Master’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University.
I have worked as a staff psychologist at the Georgetown University Law Center, caring for law students and lawyers pursuing advanced law degrees. Consequently, I have enjoyed seeing many lawyers in my practice. I also affiliate with the Medical Society of D.C. where I serve as a psychologist in the Physician Wellness Program, which supports the vital work of doctors in this area. I have been fortunate to see a number of doctors and other medical professionals in my practice.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, I was drawn to Washington DC because of my strong interest in politics and government. In my early professional years, I worked in the political arena on Capitol Hill. My background allows me to understand the unique pressures that elected officials and others in government and on Capitol Hill face in their work, and that makes my practice a good fit for people engaged in those careers.
In addition to my clinical work, I have taught clinical psychology at The George Washington University, where I have served as an assistant clinical professor of clinical psychology, and I have led graduate seminars at Catholic University. I am a member of the Maryland Psychological Association.
My psychology training is a continuing endeavor to stay current with the most up to date, evidenced-based approaches to psychotherapy, including Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy. I am committed to ongoing training with the most seasoned members of my profession to ensure that I provide the best care possible to my clients. I am passionate about the work I do because I have repeatedly seen the profound benefits that psychotherapy can offer.
I am originally from New York but have lived in the Washington DC area for many years. Having grown up in an area with people from a wide array of cultures and backgrounds, I was drawn to DC for its cultural diversity and internationalism.
